Pop Portraits

Pop Portraits fit somewhere in between pencil portraits and painted portraits. They have the look of a contemporary painted portrait but have not been painted with brushes but with pens.

Acrylic marker pens are a very modern medium and lend themselves to expressive graffiti style portraits. Glyn originally used this style for a set of three famous pop artist portraits (all died age 27).

This contemporary look could be applied to a portrait of a loved one or even a wedding couple. Particularly suited to young adults (or old rockers) that might prefer themselves portrayed in a modern rather than a classical style.

To get the most from the acrylic markers Glyn produces his graffiti style portraits at quite a large scale. He recommends a minimum size of 50cm square, or bigger for greater appeal and impact.
